the Craziness that is roller derby – bout #5

Oh yes we were there again this month, for some of the best derby i have ever seen.

Ok guys you just had to be there.

the mini bout was played by the beauty school knockouts and the western sydney rollers.

Some great jamming by both teams. but in the end the BSK took out the western rollers and won the mini bout.

During intermission i happen to see Amanda Keller lurking about and enjoying the bouts as much as we were.Looks like the roller Derby scene is getting some much needed media attention.

the intermission music, is always jamming, and the line up for the loo is always huge.. but before we knew it, the Main Bout was about to begin.

Unicorn Rollers vs Dviants

All I can say, is from the get go, this bout was impressive.Everyone was on the edge of their seats all the way to the finish.

The first half, it looked like Dviants were going to win. A strong team and one of the longest standing in the league. Dviants showed no sign of remorse when playing against the corny’s (who some of them were originally in the Dviants before the unicorn team was formed). The moment the rollers are on the circuit, its game time and no love or friendly ties is going to stop them from winning th Jam.

the second half showed a very different unicorn team, these guys came back fighting and fight they did. hey used every opportunity and used it to their best ability. finally the break they were looking for, Dviant’s Lead jammer was thrown in the box, and Unicorns took that chance to rack up as many points they could which brought them to a tie.

2 seconds till the game finishes and Unicorn lead jammer passes one more hip and WOW did the crowd go nuts!

We were all jumping like mad, not being able to believe what we had just scene with our eyes. Unicorns one and celebrated appropriately.

Next month will be just as exciting when the BSK (Beauty School Knock Outs) face off with the SAS (Screaming Assault sirens) Tickets available at www.ticketdirect.com.au or at the door.

to share the fun with you guys, here are some pics of the night taken by the amazing and awesome Sarah Ryan from Stealth Photographics - http://www.stealthphotographics.com/
